About Succulent Library
What this site is
Succulent Library is a free reference covering hundreds of succulents: genus, origin, mature size, leaf colour, hardiness and toxicity โ plus practical care guides and side-by-side comparisons. Every succulent profile includes a quick-reference facts panel and an FAQ section.
Who runs it
The site is researched and maintained by the Succulent Library Editorial Team, a small independent group of long-time succulent growers. We grow everything from windowsill haworthias to outdoor agaves, and most of the plants profiled here sit in our own collections.
Where the data comes from
- Botanical descriptions cross-checked against Kew and WCS resources
- Horticultural care guidance from nursery growing sheets and grower communities
- Encyclopedic succulent references, cross-checked across at least two sources
- Our own editorial review โ every profile is read, and botanical names are spell-checked before publishing
Editorial process
Facts (origin, mature size, hardiness, toxicity) are cross-checked against published standards. Descriptions and guides are written in plain language and reviewed by the editorial team before going live. When sources disagree, we say so or pick the most commonly cited figure โ we do not invent precision.
